Crime prevention posters have been created to create crime awareness. However, crime rates are still not decreasing. Do you think there are other ways to create crime awareness to decrease crime rates?

Increasing Car Theft Cases at Vic Street

There were increasing cases of cars been stolen at Vic Street these few months. Please help the neighbourhood by looking out for suspicious characters.

Here are ways to prevent it:

• Lock the doors and close the windows when you leave your car, no matter how long you are leaving it for.
• when parking at home, always use your garage if you have one and lock both your vehicle and your garage. If you don't have a garage, try to park in a well-lit, open place.
• Do not leave valuables on display which will attract thief.
• Leave the glove box open to show there's nothing inside.
• Get an alarm fitted. Alarms can deter thieves not only from stealing your vehicles, but also from taking items from it.
• Secure your wheels using locking wheel nuts
• Mark all equipments, e.g. car stereo, with your car reqistration number

Car Vandalism at Vic Street on the 19th of October 2009

The car vandalism took place in the night at 11.33pm at Blk 10 level 3 multi-storey carpark. Three of the cars that were parked in the carpark were been vandalised. Two people were seen involving in the vadalism. Jon Yen, who lived at Vic Street, witnessed the vandalism.

Dear Mr Lim,

Last night, while i was parking my car at Blk 10 level 3 multi-storey
carpark, i saw people vandalising the cars that were parked in the carpark.
These cars were been sprayed with paint and scratched.

I hope everyone will be aware that there were vandals in the neighbourhood
so that we can be on the lookout for each other and inform suspicious
characters. I suggest that tips on car vandalism can be given to us so that we
will be able to prevent it.
